Parents in East Yorkshire, England, are angry after children were exposed to porn during harvest song singing at the United Reformed Church, part of the church’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

While singing along with students from Hornsea Community Primary School in the town of Hornsea, suggestive images unexpectedly appeared on the large screen used to display the lyrics. Sun.

Teachers immediately intervened to shut down the X-rated footage, which was being streamed from a laptop operated by church volunteers. Great Britain News reported.

“One minute the kids are singing ‘We Plow and Scatter the Fields,’ the next the church is showing complete dirt to the students,” an anonymous parent said, according to The Sun. “The 6- and 7-year-olds were confused and didn’t know where to look.”

The school, which has an enrollment of 550 students, immediately sent a letter to parents apologizing for the incident.

“As part of the singing, a church computer screen was used to share lyrics,” the letter said. “Church volunteers used their laptops to do this and unfortunately some inappropriate content was displayed on the screen for a few seconds. Our staff immediately intervened and removed it from the screen. We are not sure if the children were aware of this and we did not speak to them about it.”

The letter added: “Mrs. Semper, our conservation leader, is following up on the matter to ensure the church deals with this matter appropriately.”

The council’s safeguarding staff have been informed and are ready to assist any children who may be affected.

The event was planned to be a celebration of the harvest season.

At the event, teachers were praised for their quick action in removing inappropriate content from the screen.

An elder in the church was quoted as saying: “There is nothing to defend here. We will let the process take its course. “This is in the hands of professionals.”

According to GB News, both the church and local authorities are investigating the matter.
