Two people evacuated following fire on Flora Street in North End

Two people were evacuated early Saturday morning following a house fire on Winnipeg’s North Side.

Around 6:41 a.m., firefighters were called to extinguish a fire at a two-story multi-family home in the 600 block of Flora Boulevard.

The teams detected smoke coming from the building. They intervened in the fire from the inside and took it under control at around 07.07 in the morning.

Most of the citizens managed to get out before the teams arrived. The two people who were evacuated by first responders were treated by medical teams but were not taken to the hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The city’s emergency social services team was deployed to assist displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
